FinTech Australia has revealed key changes to its annual flagship events the Finnies and Intersekt, known for facilitating community growth and debate on fintech in Australia.
Australia’s largest fintech conference Intersekt will be held on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 of October at the State Library of Victoria.
Panels and discussions will be spread across four key themes: Growth pathways, Fintech/Industry collaboration, consumers in the spotlight and the ASEAN market.
“Based on feedback we’re also changing the event to feature more fireside chats and fewer panels and case studies,” FinTech Australia GM, Rebecca Schot-Guppy said.
“Over 84 per cent of attendees made a new potential business connection at last year’s event. So this year, we’re also introducing meeting rooms to give attendees space to further develop those relationships.“
Meanwhile, FinTech Australia’s annual fintech awards, The Finnies will be held on June 11 at The Forum. It will include a new award for regtech companies and remain in the academy award style format that was presented last year.
“Both Intersekt and The Finnies posted record attendance and engagement numbers in 2019, with these changes we’re expecting these events will reach new heights,” Schot-Guppy added.
“With Open Banking finally being introduced this year, and many other policy discussions coming to fruition, we also see 2020 as a watershed year for the industry.”
“This is why it’s more important than ever before for us to facilitate and grow these key events, as they are instrumental in the development of our fintech ecosystem.”
The events are again proudly supported by the Victorian State Government as a presenting partner. FinTech Australia is currently taking inquiries for further sponsorships and partnerships for both events.
Earlier partners of both events include VISA, Afterpay, Reinventure, Firstmac, Cornwalls, Square, BDO, Revolut, Up, Macquarie Group, Monoova, Amobee, K&L Gates, Hall & Wilcox and Identitii.
“Tier One People were sponsors of the Finnies in 2019, the partnership delivered a significant ROI,” Dexter Cousins, Managing Director of Tier One People said.
“As a direct result of our sponsorship we were introduced to four new clients. The networking opportunities at the event are fantastic with CEO’s of Australia’s leading fintechs all in attendance, leading to further new business wins.”
“The event itself is a highly enjoyable evening, professionally produced and offers an opportunity to celebrate and party with the industry. We are proud to partner with Fintech Australia and will be back for the Finnies in 2020!”
